Introduction

Wenzhou Medical University Renji College(WMURJ)is a provincial level undergraduate college and the independent college of Wenzhou Medical University,established in 1999 with approval of the Ministry of Education and People's Government of Zhejiang Province. It has three campuses in Wenzhou,with more than 7500 full-time students.Adhering to the motto of "benevolent,beneficial,knowledgeable,and practical", it is now the vice president unitof national independent colleges and independent medical colleges committee in China,and the chairman unit of the University Group of General Practice Education in China.It also carries out various exchange programs with more than 30 universities andinstitutions in more than 10 countries and regions,incuding the United States,Canada,Australia,Sweden and Austria,etc.

Education Resources

WMURJ has a collectionof more than 620,000 volumes of Chinese and foreign language books in library,18 laboratories in campus,and over 100 teaching practice bases mainly in Zhejiang Province.It has more than 420 full-time teaching faculty,with 90%holding PhD or master's degrees,60%holding senior professional titles.Among the teaching faculty,some had been selected as National Model Teacher,Provincial High-level Healthcare Innovative Talent,Provincial Discipline Leader,etc.The teaching faculty also had won 1 national teaching competition prize and more than 20 provincial level teaching competition prizes.

In addition,there are 25 undergraduate programs,namely Clinical Medicine,Anesthesiology,Stomatology,Traditional Chinese Medicine,Forensic Medicine,Applied Psychology,Pharmacy,Traditional Chinese Pharmacy,Medical Examination Technology,Medical Imaging Technology,Ophthalmology and Optometry,Rehabilitation Treatment,Nursing,Midwifery,Marketing,Nonprofit Management,Biomedical Engineering,English,Japanese,etc.Among the programs above,there are 2 pilot programs of the Ministry of Education,5 provincial-level first-class programs,3 provincial-level featured programs.With more than 100 all level education research projects carried out in the university,WMURJ has won 1 Second Prize of National Teaching Achievement Award and 1 First Prize of Provincial Teaching Achievement Award.

Education Quality

According to the official survey,WMURJ's employment quality of graduates and the employment competitiveness of graduates three years after graduation all rank No.1 among independent colleges in the province for three consecutive years.The passing rate of clinical practitioner skills examination of the school ranks top 20%in the country,and the passing rate of licensed nurses is 100%.

WMURJ's innovative practice of General Practice training program won the national excellent case of rural revitalizationand was reprinted by the Ministry of Education,for it created the model of"national standard,provincial regulation,county management and township use",offered an effective solution to the shortage of grass-roots general practitioners.Every year it holds international conference and brought insights from international partners such as University of Western Australia,Monash University and McGill University in Canada,etc.
