School of Rehabilitation Medicine
The School of Rehabilitation Medicine can be traced back to the Rehabilitation Therapy Department established in 2003. It began admitting undergraduate students in Rehabilitation Therapy in 2004 and is one of the earliest universities in China to admit undergraduate students in Rehabilitation Therapy. Starting from 2007, we began admitting Master's students in Rehabilitation Medicine and Physiotherapy. In 2017, we began admitting Doctoral students in Rehabilitation Medicine. In 2021, we began admitting Doctoral students in Medical Technology (Rehabilitation Direction). Our school is one of the few departments in China that has dual doctoral programs. In 2021, Wenzhou Medical University and China Rehabilitation Research Center jointly set up the school of Rehabilitation Medicine. Li Xiaokun, an academician of the CAE Member and president of Wenzhou Medical University, served as the first Dean of the School. In 2022, the Rehabilitation Therapy major was selected as a national first-class professional construction site. In 2023, undergraduate majors in Sports Rehabilitation, Speech and Hearing Therapy were offered.

The school has rich resources in scientific research and teaching platforms, including the Sino American acupuncture and moxibustion Rehabilitation Research Institute, acupuncture and moxibustion Rehabilitation Key Laboratory in Zhejiang Province, Wenzhou Key Laboratory and other scientific research platforms, as well as basic laboratories, sports therapy laboratories, occupational therapy laboratories, rehabilitation evaluation laboratories, rehabilitation engineering laboratories, traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation laboratories, physical therapy laboratories, speech laboratories and other teaching platforms, which can meet the needs of students and continuing education.
