On the morning of May 14, the 2026 Sino-Thai Nursing Master Graduation and Degree Conferment Ceremony was held in the lecture hall on the second floor of the Biomedical Research Building of Wenzhou Medical University.

Sumon Sakolchai, President of the University Council, Watcharin Gasaluck, President, Adisak Keiatkriwansiri, Chair of the University Promotion Committee, Somtawin Jaritkhuan, Academic Vice President, Supawatanakorn Wongthanavasu, Expert Consultant, School of Nursing, and Pornchai Jullamate, Dean of the School of Nursing from Burapha University attended the ceremony. Li Xiaokun, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Wenzhou Medical University, heads of functional departments, all leadership members of the School of Nursing, nursing directors of affiliated hospitals, faculty representatives from both sides and all 46 graduates were present. The ceremony was hosted by Dong Chaoqun, Vice Dean of the School of Nursing.

The ceremony kicked off with the national anthems of China and Thailand. Dong Chaoqun introduced distinguished Chinese and foreign guests amid a solemn and warm atmosphere.

President Li Xiaokun extended sincere congratulations to all graduates. He reviewed the leapfrog development of the university in discipline construction, scientific innovation and international cooperation, and illustrated the fundamental role and humanistic value of nursing discipline in modern medical systems. He noted that many outstanding nursing staff members have joined his growth factor research team, whose clinical insights and meticulous work greatly facilitate the translation of research findings into clinical practice. Drawing on the spirit of Florence Nightingale, he encouraged graduates to uphold the noble mission of nursing, safeguard lives with compassion, serve the public with professionalism and embrace promising careers ahead.

Sumon Sakolchai delivered a congratulatory speech. On behalf of the university council, he congratulated all graduates and expressed gratitude to Wenzhou Medical University for long-term sincere cooperation. He stated that the joint nursing master program embodies bilateral friendship and mutual trust, cultivating numerous high-level talents with global vision and serving as a fine model of educational cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. He spoke highly of the university’s achievements in medical education and research, expecting expanded cooperation across more disciplines. He urged graduates to repay society with professional expertise and act as goodwill envoys for bilateral nursing exchanges.

President Watcharin Gasaluck recalled the growth and progress of the graduates over two years of study and paid tribute to faculty members of both universities for their dedication. He stressed that nursing demands lifelong learning and persistent dedication, calling on graduates to stay passionate about the profession and respectful of lives. He expressed pride in partnering with Wenzhou Medical University, and believed deeper cooperation would build more international platforms for nursing students.

Chintana Wacharasin, person-in-charge of the program, presented a report covering program overview, talent training system, teaching progress and achievements. Graduates delivered outstanding performance in coursework, clinical practice and research, fully meeting training requirements. She summarized highlights in faculty cooperation, academic exchanges and joint education, and put forward prospects for future development.

During the degree conferment session, professors from both universities assisted graduates with academic hoods. Graduates in academic gowns received degree certificates from Sumon Sakolchai and academic achievement certificates from Watcharin Gasaluck. Pornchai Jullamate and Cai Fuman, Deans of the two nursing schools, presented commemorative gifts respectively.

Graduate representatives Wu Yinan and Zhou Jiaxiang shared their heartfelt reflections on campus life and thanked teachers for guidance and the international learning platform. They pledged to devote themselves to nursing posts and contribute to the development of the industry.

A themed nursing song was performed at the ceremony, followed by a group photo of all attendees.

This marks the second overseas graduation ceremony of the program held at Wenzhou Medical University. Senior management and core faculty of Burapha University attended in full attendance, demonstrating great attention to joint education and sincere care for graduates. President Li Xiaokun held in-depth talks with the Thai delegation on optimizing program quality and furthering cooperation in faculty development, academic exchanges and joint talent cultivation.

Thanks to joint efforts, the program has achieved remarkable results with steadily expanding enrollment and a degree awarding rate exceeding 98%. Both universities commit to refining training modes, facilitating regular academic and faculty exchanges, and cultivating high-caliber nursing talents with professional competence and global perspective.
