From August 19th to 24th, the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University (FAHWMU) welcomed a group of enthusiastic medical students from Siberian State Medical University, Russia.
Building on last year's successful visit, 10 Russian students and faculty participated the Program this year to explore the realms of smart healthcare and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).
Over the past week, the Russian students learned the practical applications of smart healthcare, including medical AI, online and offline internet hospitals, and advancements in telemedicine. They also experienced intelligent services, from smart triage systems to automated pharmacies and bedside billing, highlighting the transformative power of technology in enhancing medical service efficiency and quality.
Moreover, the students embarked on a journey of discovery into the core principles of TCM, such as the "preventive treatment of disease," holistic view, and individualized therapy. Hands-on sessions with acupuncture, tui na (Chinese massage), and herbal medicine allowed them to appreciate TCM as not just a therapeutic modality but a lifestyle philosophy and health paradigm.
This exchange transcended mere academic sharing; it was a vibrant interplay of cultures and ideologies. The hospital's smart healthcare achievements offered invaluable learning opportunities for international students, while the dissemination of TCM enriched global medical discourse with distinctive Chinese wisdom.
The Program marked a new chapter in Sino-Russian medical exchanges for FAHWMU, forging a bridge that spans technological advancements and cultural traditions, ultimately contributing to the advancement of global healthcare.
