On September 26, the Thai Traditional Chinese Medicine School of Continuing Education, jointly built by Wenzhou Medical University and the TCM Doctor Association Thailand, was officially inaugurated at the TCM Doctor Association Thailand. Akon, chairman of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Management Committee of the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand, Cheng Jinguo, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Wenzhou Medical University, and Lin Danqian, president of the TCM Doctor Association Thailand, attended the event.

Akon hoped that through the joint construction of the college, the two sides could train more outstanding Thai TCM doctors, carry forward the culture of TCM, improve the level of TCM diagnosis and treatment, deliver real benefits to the health cause of Thailand, and set a new benchmark for creating greater medical achievements.

Cheng Jinguo expressed high expectations for the construction of the Thai Traditional Chinese Medicine School of Continuing Education. He said that this school of continuing education is a new paradigm of international cooperation in TCM education between China and Thailand. The two sides will work together to build the school into a continuing education demonstration base that is rooted in Thailand and influences Southeast Asia, and integrate high-quality development into the "Belt and Road" development plan.

Lin Danqian hoped to coordinate the forces of all parties through the construction of the school, standardize the continuing medical education of the TCM industry, provide distinctive and high-level continuing education, and contribute to the development of TCM in the international arena.

At the event, Cheng Jinguo and Lin Danqian signed a cooperation agreement on the joint construction of the Thai Traditional Chinese Medicine School of Continuing Education between Wenzhou Medical University and TCM Doctor Association Thailand. Letters of appointment for overseas exchange experts in TCM, visiting professors, and consultants of Thai TCM Academy were presented at the ceremony.

WMU and TCM Doctor Association Thailand have been collaborating since 2016. They have established the Thai Excellent TCM Doctor Training Base and carried out special training for licensed TCM doctors in Thailand. On the basis of the training base, the two sides have upgraded their cooperation to establish the Thai Traditional Chinese Medicine School of Continuing Education. The school has integrated the resources of the National Traditional Chinese Medicine Service Export Base and the International Cooperation Special Base of the Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and will focus on the cultivation of appropriate and excellent TCM talents in Thailand, striving to build itself into an important vehicle for promoting overseas TCM and Chinese culture and an exemplary model for the reform and development of overseas TCM continuing education.
