• Up to 667 points! WMU’s 9 programs listed among top 10 programs with the highest cut-off points in provincial colleges and universities

  • On July 19, the cut-off points (the first batch) of the National College Entrance Examination in Zhejiang Province in 2022 were announced. The minimum score required for 32 programs of Wenzhou Medical University ranked first among the same programs in provincial colleges and universities. WMU has nine programs out of the top ten with the highest cut-off points in provincial colleges and universities, up by one program from last year. Eight programs only admitted students ranking top 10,000 in Zhejiang, up by three programs from last year. The admission score of the Ophthalmology & Optometry (5+3 Integrated Program) exceeded the minimum required score of special enrollment programs by 65 points, ranking first among all programs in provincial colleges and universities for six consecutive years. The student with the highest admission score this year got 667 points and will major in Clinical Medicine (5+3 Integrated Program).


    The number of admitted students increased, and the overall quality of students improved steadily.

    This year WMU admitted 2,323 undergraduates in Zhejiang Province, showing an increase of 210 over last year. All 38 undergraduate programs filled classes above the cut-off points of the first batch and the number of programs enrolling students with scores above the cut-off points for special enrollment programs has increased to 33. The average score is 606 points, 14 points above the cut-off points of the special enrollment programs. The minimum required scores of clinical medicine programs all rank first in Zhejiang. In particular, the cut-off point of the Clinical Medicine program is 631 points, 39 points higher than the cut-off points of the special enrollment programs and 20 points higher than its counterparts in Zhejiang.


    WMU has promoted the construction of "four new concepts" and witnessed a significant improvement in the quality of students admitted to the “excellent plan”.


    The rankings of students admitted to various programs are higher compared with last year. The rankings of students admitted to Clinical Medicine (5+3 Integrated Program), Clinical Medicine (New Medicine), Clinical Medicine (5+3 Integrated Program, Anesthesiology), Clinical Medicine (5+3 Integrated Program, Geriatrics) are 1,000 places higher. The students admitted to Clinical Medicine (5+3 Integrated Program, Pediatrics) and the newly-opened Clinical Medicine (5+3 Integrated Program, Medical Imaging) all ranked top 10,000 in Zhejiang. In addition, as one of the first batch of pilot universities approved by the Ministry of Education for the reform of laboratory physician training, WMU has launched the Clinical Medicine (Pilot Laboratory Physician Training Program) and started enrollment this year. The minimum score required for the program is 639 points and the average score is 641 points, 47 points higher than the cut-off points of the special enrollment programs.


    WMU has contributed to the training of primary medical personnel, and the quality of students admitted to the rural-oriented programs continued to improve.


    In order to further optimize the structure of the primary healthcare personnel team in Zhejiang and play a more important role in improving the ability of grassroots health services and disease prevention and control, WMU has continued to strengthen the training of grassroots medical talents in 2022, and provided rural-oriented programs in clinical medicine, preventive medicine, pediatrics, and medical imaging. The university has enrolled 158 students from 46 counties and districts, 55 more than last year. All of them got scores above the cut-off points of the special enrollment programs. The student getting the highest mark of 640 is admitted to Pediatrics (Rural-oriented Program).
