On April 28, the reconstruction of the football training ground in Wenzhou Medical University for the 19th Asian Games 2022 met the standards for operation. The completion and inspection meeting was organized by the Wenzhou Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. WMU Vice President Wang Junhong, and representatives from the Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning, the Building Quality Supervision Station, the Urban Construction Archives, and the construction unit attended the meeting.
According to the acceptance inspection, the main structure of the project, building decoration, water supply and drainage, HVAC, intelligent building construction, auxiliary projects and other subdivisional work have conformed to the drawing design and related specifications and standards, reached the qualified engineering level, and satisfied the needs of the schedule arrangement of FIFA and the Asian Games.
The total renovation area of the project is 27,344 square meters, with a building area of 2,170 square meters and a green area of 11,041 square meters. The main renovation and upgrading areas and items include renovations of a standard athletic field, standard football training field, indoor and outdoor grandstands, plastic area, leisure sports area, fence facilities, rainwater reuse system, and new auxiliary rooms for athletes, two 5-a-side football pitches, four high-pole lamps, protocol standard flagpole, etc.
The reconstruction of the football training ground in the Wenzhou Medical University for the Asian Games began on September 26, 2021. In spite of the challenges brought by the Covid-19, WMU has attached great importance to the project, accelerated the construction progress while ensuring quality, adhered to the concept of hosting a "Green, Smart, Economical, and Ethical” Asian Games, and carried forward the spirits of "taking responsibility, dedication and devotion, seeking excellence, standardization and self-discipline". The project is completed by the end of April, one month earlier than the completion date set by the Asian Games Organizing Committee.
