On March 27th, a delegationof the Austrian State of Styria (Steiermark in German) headed by Governor Hermann Schützenh?fer visited China. During their visit, Lu Zhongqiu,Dean of the Nursing School of Wenzhou Medical University (WMU), and Gerd Hartinger, Chief Executive Officer of Graz Elderly Health Center, signed a MoU on cooperation in faculty and student exchange, scientific research, and other fields. Governor Hermann Schützenh?fer and officials from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of WMU also attended the signing ceremony.
Located in the southeastern Austria with Graz as its capital, Steiermark is the second largest state in Austria. Since WMU signed a cooperation agreements with Medical University of Graz, Austria in 2002, the cooperation in exchange of students and visiting scholars, research cooperation in medical science and pharmacy, cultivation of high-level talents and other fields has resulted in remarkable achievements.
As Wenzhou is currently speeding up its efforts to build a center of life and health industries with global influence while the Graz Elderly Health Center provides first-class services in Europe including the professional architectural design for elderly health care, elderly health care consultation and cultivation of professional talents, both sides plan to work together to jointly promote exchange and cooperation in creation and innovation. The signing of the MoU is sure to further deepen the bilateral cooperation in medical treatment, elderly care service and scientific research.
