On March 12, Mr. Katayama Kazuno, Consul-General and his secretary Mr. Takeda Hikaruki, the Vice Consul of the Consulate General of Japan in Shanghai, visited Wenzhou Medical University (WMU).Vice President Wang Liangxing, on behalf of WMU, welcomed and met with the delegation. Heads of WMU’s International Cooperation & Exchange Office and School of Foreign Language Studies also attended the meeting with the visiting delegation.
After Vice President Wang briefing the delegation about WMU, the two sides exchanged views on the medical and health care systems of China and Japan. Mr. Katayama Kazuno expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Wenzhou Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office (WFACAO) and WMU for building the platform to carry out the event of“Experience Japanese Culture Day”, and providing opportunities to exchange with WMU students on Kendo, Japanese Tea Ceremony and Japan’s animation culture. 2017 marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Japan diplomatic relations and 2018 will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between China and Japan. He hoped that the opportunity be seized to further promote academic and economic exchange between Wenzhou and Japan.
Vice President Wang introduced the delegation about the Japanese Major of WMU and WMU’s exchange programs culture and medical science with Japan’s Miyazaki University, Hokuriku University and Kumamoto University. Moreover, he alsowarmly invited Japanese students for further study at WMU.
After the meeting, Mr. Katayama Kazuno delivered a well-received speech when addressing students at WMU.
