• WMU's "Fu Sheng Program" Wins the 7th “Zhejiang Charity Award”

  • On September 2, the 7th Zhejiang Charity Conference was held at the Great Hall of the People in Zhejiang province. The “Fu Sheng” Wound Healing Program, initiated by Li Xiaokun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Wenzhou Medical University, won the 7th "Zhejiang Charity Award" (Charity Program and Charitable Trust Award).

    The “Fu Sheng” Wound Healing Program, taking advantage of the national volunteer platform, has established a rescue network and benefited the people with the scientific and technological results achieved by the academician’s team. The program aims to provide charitable aid services for vulnerable groups suffering from skin wound problems all over the country. Working hard to create a charity brand integrating “medical treatment, education, science and technology, and charity” in the new era, the program has contributed to the course of rural revitalization, common prosperity, and Zhejiang’s high-quality development of a demonstration zone for common prosperity.

    Over the past two years, the "Fu Sheng Program” has cultivated flagship events such as "Rescue Stations in Thousand Villages and Sites", "Fu Sheng in Tibetan Area", and "Centennial Red", established a rescue network covering Zhejiang, Fujian, Shaanxi, and Tibet, and initiated the remote rescue mode as part of its commitment to the "Belt and Road Initiative". The team has successively established 56 charity stations for wound repair in Yushu in Qinghai, Naqu in Tibet, Fuding in Fujian, Fuping in Shaanxi, Kaihua in Quzhou, Yongjia and Wencheng in Wenzhou, etc., and cooperated with 40 volunteer organizations to establish an assistance network. The program’s team has provided precision medicine services on 360 cases, carried out 162 public welfare activities, conducted 156 operations, donated money and supplies worth 4.56 million yuan, traveled over 102,000 kilometers, and benefited more than 30,000 people. The program receives wide attention and has been reported by People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV News, Guangming Daily, Zhejiang Daily, and other mainstream media.

    "Zhejiang Charity Award" is the most prestigious charity award given by the Zhejiang government. There are a total of 132 recipients of the 7th "Zhejiang Charity Award", including 2 awards for outstanding contributions to philanthropy, 10 charity model awards, 30 awards for individual donors, 30 awards for institutional donors, 30 awards for charity programs and charitable trusts, 20 awards for volunteer services, and 10 awards for rural revitalization.
