On March 30, the results of the 2019 Performance Appraisal for National Tertiary Public Hospitals were released. Among general hospitals, the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University jumped to the 18th place nationally, up 14 places from last year, with an A+ rating. The Second Affiliated Hospital of WMU and Yuying Children's Hospital ranked 65th in China, with a rating of A+.
In the evaluation of specialized hospitals, the Eye Hospital, WMU ranked the 1st in Zhejiang province and the 4th in China, getting the highest grade A (specialized hospitals only have three grades: A, B and C), with full marks on 13 assessment indicators, and the total assessment score hit a new high. As the Longwan headquarter of Hospital Stomatology, WMU was opened, the hospital has upgraded its facilities and produced fruitful results in medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research, which dramatically enhanced its demonstrating and leading role in the southern Zhejiang, northern Fujian, and eastern Jiangxi region.
It is acknowledged that the national performance appraisal for tertiary public hospitals, which is considered as “Gaokao” for national public hospitals, is an important institutional arrangement of the country to deepen the reform of the medical sector and promote the high-quality development of hospitals. It is a "gold standard", "baton" and "wind vane" of examining the comprehensive regional medical ability. It is the most authoritative and comprehensive list which fully displays the hospitals' hardcore strength!
