In recent years, in order to establish a high-quality education system with undergraduate education at the center, WMU has valued the construction of the professional connotation the most and aimed at cultivating excellent medical talents. Eight measures were taken to promote the construction of programs, create prominent characteristics, and enhance the development of connotation, including optimizing the talent training scheme, strengthening the construction of teaching staff, promoting the reform of curriculum construction, advancing the teaching conditions, carrying out the innovation of industry-education integration, reforming teaching process management, strengthening clinical practice teaching, and setting up a quality assurance system. Going forward, WMU will take the construction of first-class undergraduate programs as a starting point and continue to meet the national and regional development strategy as well as the university’s target of constructing into a "Double First-Class” university by deepening the “Four New” education reform of planning medical education development with new concepts, promoting medical personnel training with a new goal, accelerating medical education reform with a new design, and strengthening the transformation of education methods with new connotations, so as to improve the quality of talent cultivation in all aspects.
