From November 29 to December 1, Li Xiaokun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of WMU, led a delegation to participate in the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Macau University of Science and Technology and signed a cooperation agreement.
On behalf of Wenzhou Medical University, Li Xiaokun signed a cooperation agreement with Academician Liu Liang, president of Macau University of Science and Technology. The two sides will cooperate in the fields of student exchange, faculty training, scientific research, and joint postgraduate program.
During the events, the Summit on Innovation, Technology, and Higher Education was held with the theme of "Science and technology are the primary productive forces." The conference brought together many governmental officials, principal leaders of universities, experts and scholars at home and abroad. Speakers including Academician Bai Chunli, Academician Li Lanjuan, Academician Zheng Shusen, Academician Yang Baofeng, Academician Zeng Yitao, Academician Li Shutang, shared their experience and thoughts on scientific research innovation, international talent cultivation, academic exchanges, and technology transformation. President Li Xiaokun was invited to preside over the summit and give a special report on "Thirty Years of Intensive Research, Exploring the Mystery of Growth Factors". He introduced the overall situation of WMU and a series of innovative results of his research team through intensive exploration in the field of cell growth factors and close integration among enterprises, universities and research institutions.
At the 20th Anniversary Celebration Ceremony, the "Republic Medal" recipient and representative of honorary doctors of Macau University of Science and Technology, Academician Zhong Nanshan had many in-depth exchanges with Li Xiaokun, and fully affirmed the 2020 World Young Scientists Summit held in WMU in October this year as well as the development we have achieved in recent years.
Relevant persons in charge of the Postgraduate Student Affairs Office, Teaching Affairs Office, International Affairs Office, and School of Pharmaceutical Sciences accompanied President Li Xiaokun on his visit.
