  • Vice president and delegation from Bashkir State Medical University, Russia visited WMU
  • On May 21, Irina Rakhmatullina, Vice-rector of Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU), Russia led a delegation and visited WMU. WMU President Li Xiaokun attended the meeting together with heads of relevant departments including Graduate School, International Affairs Office, Science and Technology Department and School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

    Li Xiaokun extended a warm welcome on behalf of WMU to the BSMU delegation at the meeting. He said that the 2019 annual meeting of the Standing Council of Association of Sino-Russian Medical Universities and the Sino-Russian International Summit on Innovation and Cooperation in Pharmaceutical Science and Technology held in Guangzhou in January this year, provided a platform for exchanges and mutual learning for the cooperation between BSMU and WMU. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, we should grasp the opportunity and make full use of government policies to carry out joint PhD programs in pharmacy, pharmacology, clinical medicine, stomatology, public health and other fields. Prof. Irina Rakhmatullina thanked WMU for our extraordinary arrangements and hospitality. She believed that BSMU and WMU share the same goal, which is to achieve development and expand international cooperation. Both universities should give full play to their advantageous resources and conduct communications and practical cooperation across various fields.

    During the visit, Prof. Irina Rakhmatullina and Prof. Alexandr Samorodov gave lectures on medical education in Russia and BSMU respectively.

    BSMU was established in 1932, located in Ufa City, Bashkortostan Republic. It is a non-profit public higher education institution, and is considered to be the center of medical and pharmaceutical science of Bashkortostan Republic. BSMU has been devoted to training specialists for healthcare, scientific, and pedagogical work in the field of professional medical and pharmaceutical education.
