  • Participants of the judicial workshop for judges of the SCO member states visited WMU
  • On the afternoon of April 26, participants of the judicial workshop for judges of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states visited Wenzhou Medical University (WMU). Thirteen judges from the Kyrgyzstan Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan attended the workshop. WMU vice president Wang Liangxing and heads of relevant departments such as the International Affairs Office and Department of Hospital Administration took part in the meeting.

    At the meeting, president Wang Liangxing extended a warm welcome to the workshop participants and briefly introduced the latest development of WMU and its cooperation with the SCO. He expressed the hope that WMU would play an active role in personnel training in the field of international justice and contribute to enhancing understanding and friendship between China and the SCO countries relying on the platform of the research and training center of the China National Institute for SCO International Exchange and Judicial Cooperation. He also welcomed more international students from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan come to WMU to study.

    Judge of the Bishkek City Court, Kyrgyz Republic, expressed their gratitude for the arrangement on behalf of the workshop. He highly appreciated the campus environment and achievements of WMU, and hoped that more Kyrgyz students would come to WMU to study. At the meeting, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the education of international students, medical development and forensic training.

    It is reported that this judicial workshop for judges of the SCO member states was held in China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) International Judicial Exchanges and Cooperation Training Base. The workshop aims to implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s speech delivered at the 18th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the SCO (Qingdao Summit) and the spirit of the XIII Meeting of Presidents and Chief Justices of the Supreme Courts of the SCO Member States to promote the rule of law for Belt and Road cooperation and strengthen international exchanges and cooperation.
