  • WMU Hire Former Israel Shanghai Consul General Amikam Levy as President International Consultant
  • On 12th June, former Israel Shanghai Consul General Amikam Levy and his wife and Mr. Ying Shude, general consultant of Canadian Wenzhou Friendship Association visited Wenzhou Medical University. President Li Xiaokun, Vice President Jin Shengwei have a cooperation meeting with the guests and hire Mr. Amikam Levy as president international consultant. Personell from related department such as President office, science and technology department and international cooperation department also attend the meeting.

    Mr. Amikam Levy highly appreciates the achievements of WMU on research, clinical, teaching and information technology and expressed his wished to become the connection point of WMU and Israeli universities on cooperation of all levels, and promote the exchanges of knowledge and experience and eventually achieve a win-win outcome. President Li noted that Israel takes the leading position of technology and medical technologies, WMU would like to learn from the advanced experience of elderly care from Israel and jointly build an international healthcare and rehabilitation center. WMU also likes to introduce Israel’s dominant disciplines and establish jointly college or research center to further expand the prospect of cooperation between China and Israel. Both sides will carry on cooperation on clinical disciplines such as cardiovascular, neurosurgery, cerebral surgery and infant intensive care and jointly explore the possibility of founding an international specialty hospital in Wenzhou.

    During the visit, the delegation also visited health town and the First Affliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University.

    State of Israel, referred to as Israel, is located in Levant West Asia. Israel is the only country in the world that is a Jewish Country. Israel has prestigious achievements in research and technology and 10 Nobel prize winners are from Israel or Jewish. Between 2016 to 2017, WMU sent 8 students to Ben-Gurion University of the Negev as short term exchange students and teachers were sent from 2016 to 2018 for academic exchanges in healthcare centers in Israel.
