From May 20th to 26th, WMU delegation led by vice president Jin Shengwei paid a visit to Linnaeus University and Lund University in Sweden and Semervis University in Hungary, and signed cooperation agreements with each university at length.
As one of the top 100 universities in the world, Lund University and WMU have joined together to carry out the doctoral education program of clinical medicine aimed at transformational medicine and intend to have further in-depth cooperation and exchanges. During the visit to Lund University, vice president Kim Seung-wai and Erik RenstrOm, Dean of the Medical College of Lund University, signed the agreement for the establishment of the Sino-Swiss Joint Life Sciences Research Institute on behalf of the two universities. Jin sincerely expressed his hope that the two universities will fully take advantage of the joint research institute as the platform to promote scientific research, boost pedagogic and clinical cooperation, and explore the potential of establishing a joint education institution between both schools. During the visit, the delegation visited the Medikin Life Science Park, Incubation Center in Lund University and the Innovation Center of Lund University. The delegation held in-depth discussions with Kerstin Jackobsson, Chairman of the Scientific Research Cooperation and Innovation and Technology Park. Hopefully, through the cooperation, our school is capable of boosting transformation of scientific research achievements.
During the visit to Linnaeu University, our delegation conducted an in-depth cooperation with the International Department, the College of Health, and the College of Science and Technology, which ended up reaching a cooperation in students' joint training, teachers exchanges, and research cooperation. Vice president Jin signed up a cooperation agreement between the two schools with the Vice President Ann- Charlotte Larsson.
The delegation also visited the University of Smermavis University, the first medical college of Hungary's traditional national university. The discussion was conducted with the vice president, and the dean of the dental school. Jin and vice president GyOrgy Bagdy signed a school-level cooperation agreement and ushered a new era between our university and the Hungarian medical school.
Relevant personnel came along concluding the faculty from the Foreign Affairs Office, the Second Clinical Medical College, and the School of Stomatology.
