WMU recruits talents from all over the world

  • I. Recruitment

    WMU recruits the following five-level professionals: leading talents in disciplines (A1, A2), discipline leaders (B1, B2), academic leaders (C), academic backbones (D), and outstanding doctors (and postdocs) (E).


    Basic requirements: abide by the laws and regulations; commit to the principle of "fostering virtue through education"; passionate to engage in education; with good scientific spirit, professional ethics and a sense of teamwork; with strong teaching and research capabilities, and social service abilities; physically and mentally healthy.


    (I) Leading talents in disciplines (A1)

    Have strong academic reputation and leadership capabilities; world-leading academic research; extensive academic prestige and influence at home and abroad; capable of leading the discipline towards groundbreaking development; well-recognized notable experts and scholars in the discipline, such as Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

    (II) Leading talents in disciplines (A2)

    Have profound academic accomplishments and have achieved landmark research results recognized by peers at home and abroad in the field; possess the capacity to lead the discipline to maintain or surpass the international forefront, as well as to guide a team to collaboratively tackle key challenges; have reached or are close to the academic level of nationally recognized leading talents.

    (III) Discipline leaders (B1)

    Discipline leaders should, in principle, be under the age of 55, have reached a domestic leading or internationally advanced level in the field, and be renowned scholars or leading figures within the disciplines, whose achievements meet or approach the academic level corresponding to the national young talents program, or who have achieved research outcomes featuring good economic and social benefits and demonstrate strong abilities in innovation and organizational coordination.

    (IV) Discipline leaders (B2)

    Discipline leaders should, in principle, be under the age of 55, have reached a domestic leading or internationally advanced level in the field, and be renowned scholars or leading figures within the disciplines who have achieved research outcomes with significant academic influence, and meet or approach the corresponding level of leading talents in provincial talent programs.

    (V) Academic leaders (C)

    Academic leaders should, in principle, be under the age of 45, hold a doctoral degree, possess high innovative capabilities, and be scholars whose research and achievements recognized by peers as meeting or approaching the academic level corresponding to the provincial young talents program; or who have achieved research outcomes featuring good economic and social benefits and demonstrate strong abilities in innovation and organizational coordination.

    (VI) Academic backbones (D)

    Academic backbones should, in principle, be under the age of 40, hold a doctoral degree, have significant academic achievements in the past five years, and possess certain influence in their field of research, such as those who have published a series of high-level academic papers in authoritative domestic and international journals as the first author or corresponding author, who have presided over national-level projects, or who have notably outstanding performance in the transformation and application of scientific research achievements.

    (VII) Outstanding doctors (and postdocs) (E)

    Outstanding domestic and overseas doctors (and postdocs) under 35 years of age, with a stable research direction, who have published high-level scientific research papers, and possess potential for development in teaching and scientific research.


    II. Remuneration and Benefits for Full-time Professionals



    Note: 

    1. The annual pay refers to the pre-tax income for the whole year (including social insurance and housing fund), and scientific research awards during the term of work will be issued separately as per policies; housing subsidies will be distributed in installments as per policies.

    2. WMU will assist in resolving matters related to the household registration and talent’s children’s education.
